AHPIA/Academic Group was founded by medical teaching professionals exclusively to meet the unique professional liability insurance needs of clinical educators and physician faculty in the state of New York. This founding principal of protecting the physicians and health professionals who teach and serve as role models for today’s medical learners remains a driving force at the company. While physician faculty and staff remain the backbone of Academic Group subscribers, I am thrilled to announce that the Board of Governors has approved an extension of coverage for healthcare providers that are working outside academia.
